Burt

A couple of Gustavs from CP+B created this company to build software specifically for the advertising industry.

Two of their existing applications look pretty awesome. Rich, their refined analytics app and the one I am even more excited about, Copybox. Copybox is what they refer to as "a photoshop for copywriters."

A dynamic text editor with built in reaction variables allows you to create more indepth copy and create new ideas on the fly. Actionscript export lets you implement dynamic copy into flash ads targeted specifically towards users.

holy

are you kidding me? get into this shit fast.

crowdsourcing?

ok so there is this new thing, crowdsourcing, this guy John Winsor, previous owner of Radar i think, went to work at CP+B is all about this stuff.

so he left Crispin and started Victors and Spoils. part of me thinks this is a brilliant way to get work done. part of me thinks this is a lazy and inefficient way to get work done for clients who don't know any better.

there are efforts being put in place to systematize (is that even a fucking word?) crowdsourcing for agencies and i am sure we will see much of it pan out in the next few years.

lab rats anyone?

joe mckay

found this guy browsing around yesterday. i love stuff like this. it is all really simple and can be hand done and i think stuff like the polaroids can be such good process on one hand, but keepsakes and memories at the same time.

Cloud Computing

Its amazing what a marketing elective will teach you. I took buyer behavior this semester so I could learn more about the way consumers think about products and how advertising is incorporated into that.

Cloud computing is interesting. A combination of outsourcing IT infrastructure and business applications have allowed for a lot more flexibility with business IT departments, letting them focus on better things. These applications are starting to get integrated with social networks and other consumer applications.

putting your pants on every day

jamie barrett told a story about getting up in the morning and asking himself what the hell he was doing at 5am going into work for conference calls.

he said "what the hell am i doing."

from his bed, the voice of his 6 year old son replied "you are putting your pants on."

i myself have been sleeping in my jeans again. i also do not have a 6 year old son.
